“We have used Elaine’s services at our villa in Montenegro for several parties of guests over this year, and all of them without exception have been blown away by Elaine’s delicious food, and reliable, professional and friendly manner. We had previously tried working with several other chefs, and none of them came anywhere near in terms of quality of food and service, or value.
As well as cooking for groups of guests, Elaine has also cooked for a painting trip that I arranged and hosted at our villa, and I can testify from first-hand experience that Elaine made the process of keeping the guests well-fed and happy, as well as my job of looking after them, so much easier, and the food was fabulous! All of the guests commented on what a wonderful chef and person Elaine is, and I have no doubt that we will be working together again many times in the future. Elaine is never flustered and always friendly, and makes cooking for large parties look like child’s play, which is an amazing talent.”

Elaine is a super chef and a super person, and I will be eternally grateful to her for all she contributed to the success of our family reunion. Elaine’s stoicism in the face of electrical outages, water problems, heat wave, wildfires, latecomers to meals, and the general stress of cooking for a large crowd, was admirable.I just recreated a salad of watermelon, feta, avocado, and red union. with a few pecans thrown in ( a touch of South Carolina).Good, but Elaine’s was better.

Farfalla had a very busy schedule in both the Eastern med and the Caribbean. Elaine is an extremely proficient chef and totally unflappable! There was never a time in all our trips and deliveries where Elaine didn’t perform well, she delivered food on time all the time despite the conditions, be it a busy charter schedule or the RORC600 offshore race. Elaine’s cooking was well received, with some of our charter guests commenting that she was the best chef they’d ever had.

Hello,
I’m Elaine Brown.
I have always been interested in food and cooking , learning many skills and techniques while travelling around the globe. While living in central Mexico, and seeing the need to diversify tastes and palettes I opened a Thai restaurant. Here I used my knowledge from a decade of living in Cairns Australia, and the Asian influence that is engrained there. Later after extensive travel through India and Sri Lanka I added complex spice mixes to my repertoire. Middle Eastern cuisine also features in my menu planning, having enjoyed many visits to Turkey, Egypt, Israel and Iran.
Africa is also close to my heart, and I have had the privilege of volunteering as a chef trainer in remote camps in Ethiopia, Tanzania and Namibia.
I have worked as a chef professionally for more than 11 years on private yachts, both sailing and motor, large and small. Provisioning in far away destinations such as Greenland and the high Arctic and trying unusual delicacies (muskox, seal, goat and sea cucumbers) being just part of the job.
I now live in the Boka bay region of glorious Montenegro. Steeped in complex history and abundant with organic fruits and vegetables, honey and wine, I’m lucky to call this place home. So whether you are a new visitor, a returning resident or just passing through you can enjoy my culinary expertise.
